Awakening

This might be the most significant painting that has ever come through me.
It arrived as the living quality of friendship I have shared for 40 years with Lency Spezzano. She is the bravest, most compassionate, most intense human being I have ever met.
Lency has taken me, hundreds of times, into the very center of the most unbearable pain inside my body and being, sitting there with me energetically, unmoving and unafraid, until we were both laughing our asses off that I ever thought the pain was a problem. We sat there until the illusion of being unloved and unlovable dissolved and reality awakened.
This painting is my prayer for everyone who wants it:
May every heart be blessed to find a friend like Lency! A friend whose presence and light can look you in the eyes and transform the most incredible pain into the miracle where you’re laughing your ass off that you ever thought it was a problem.
This is not fantasy.
This is not avoidance.
This is not reaching for a distraction.
This is your heart remembering what it’s actually built for.
WHAT EVERY HEART ACTUALLY WANTS
You are not asking for comfort.
You are not asking for someone to soothe you, manage your emotions, or tiptoe around your intensity.
You want something far rarer.
You want a friend whose presence is medicine.
The kind of presence that doesn’t try to fix you but changes the atmosphere of the room so completely that the storm inside you remembers the sky.
You want a friend who can look directly into your eyes when your heart is cracked open and meet you there without shrinking.
Not triggered by your vulnerability.
A friend whose light hits you—not as pressure, but as permission.
Permission to breathe again.
Permission to feel again.
Permission to be held.
Permission to not carry everything alone.
Permission to laugh your way out of every hell of your own mind.
This painting carries that medicine.
It is the explosion of color and light that happens when two souls sit together long enough for the illusion to crack open and the laughter of awakening to pour through.
May it reach you.
May it remind you.
May it bring you the friend who helps you remember:
You were never unloved.
You were only waiting to be seen this clearly.
